I focus on health and well-being as a gift that requires skills and abilities to maintain. Many people have not learned how to live fully, but want to.

Frequently Asked Questions

This is my first time in therapy. What should I expect?

We will begin by learning about what brings you to therapy and explore your goals for hoped for outcomes. Together, our goal is to develop insight and discover solutions to issues that are problematic.


How many sessions will I get?
A client is in treatment with me until he/she feels the set goals have been met.


How long do sessions last?
50 minutes for psychotherapy
½ hour or 1 hour for CHEF Coaching


Do sessions need to be used within a certain time frame?
This does not apply because you will pay for your sessions at the time of your appointment. (wasn’t sure on this response, Barbara).


Will I receive additional materials or email support?
No.

What is CHEF coaching?

Food is medicine! Culinary Health Education Fundamentals (CHEF) is an opportunity to learn how to make lasting change in the way you eat. Learn how to cook with confidence using fresh and local ingredients, focusing on developing new ways of "plant-forward" eating which are great for you and great for the planet!


Do sessions take place via phone, Skype, in person?
Most sessions are in person. I will meet by phone if circumstances demand it, but not as a regular course.


How will I be billed?
Clients pay at the time of service.
If applicable, I will bill your Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance.


Is there pre-work?
Psychotherapy clients will fill out a questionnaire prior to their first meeting.


How does exercising during therapy actually work?
Exercise is medicine! Research studies show exercise is highly effective in reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. You set the pace while walking on a treadmill in the comfort and privacy of the office. Most clients experience a lift in mood, increased problem solving, and clearer thinking.
